There are less than two weeks until the start of our Summer Swim Season, so this communication contains a lot of information in anticipation.

The SwimTopia Website is our Primary Communication Resource

Throughout the season, you will receive weekly emails from the SwimTopia portal on upcoming events. Note that you will need to log into SwimTopia to RSVP for team events and meets and to sign up for Parent Participation Jobs. Please check the Events and Meets tabs regularly.

After School Practices Start Monday, May 16^th – Clear Creek Rec Center

We have secured pool time at the Clear Creek Recreation Center – in Idaho Springs 20 minutes from Genesee - between 4:00pm to 5:30pm every day the week of May 16^th. Please come for all or part of the sessions, as this is a great opportunity ease into the water before regular practices begin. To ensure we have enough swimmer coaches on staff for each practice, please RSVP the practices you plan to attend under the Events and Meets tabs.

We are working with the Genesee Foundation to open the pool for the swim team starting Monday, May 23. We will keep an eye on the weather for that week and communicate practice locations accordingly.

Swimsuit Information

Swimsuit availability continues to be an issue this year. I talked with Christine at Colorado Swim Shop yesterday and China’s COVID lockdowns are causing significant supply chain issues. As a result, we have made a couple modifications to the team suit.

• For the boys, about half the orders have been filled with the “Hexa” jammer. For future and backordered swimsuits we will be ordering the “Alliance Splice” jammer.
• For the girls, all past and future orders are being replaced with the TYR “Agran” design.

Kickoff Barbecue is Sunday, May 22^nd

We look forward to seeing you at the kickoff barbecue! Please RSVP on our SwimTopia website - Events and Meets - by Friday, May 20th.The team provides hamburgers, hotdogs, and drinks. The Coaches and Parent Board will host an orientation session in the Vista Clubhouse starting at 4:30 pm. We look forward to seeing all new parents and swimmers at this event. We also encourage returning families to attend if they want more details on the upcoming season. Key topics include:

• Meet the coaches and a preview of the upcoming season
• Use of SwimTopia and how it is used for communications and meet coordination
• What to expect at practices and meets
• Parent Participation opportunities
• Open forum to ask questions

Food will be served at the conclusion of the orientation session. We hope everyone can attend as we kick off the start of our season.

Registration remains open ONLY for Genesee Foundation Residents until May 14th

Spread the word! Don’t forget to register for Genesee Swim Team. Registration is open until May 14^th. (https://genesee.swimtopia.com/). This is one of the few organized activities available in Genesee that brings our kids together. Even if swimming is not your primary sport, the Genesee Swim Team is a great way to meet other families in Genesee, keep in shape, and participate in some healthy competition.
