Sunday, May 22 - Pool Safety Day & Swim Team BBQ

I thought I captured everything in yesterday's swim team update, however I want to pass additional information about the activities occurring on Sunday, May 22nd.

Genesee Foundation's Pool Safety Day - Noon to 2pm

As a result of the Genesee Foundation Board's decision not to have lifeguards this summer, they are holding a Pool Safety Day event to further educate the community on water safety. There is a nice write-up in this month's Genescene that discusses pool rules to promote safety. This event will help reinforce that information.

They have asked the Swim Team to participate. If you are available, consider volunteering to help setup/take down, serve hot dogs and drinks, and oversee kid pool games. Kids remember to wear your swim team t-shirts to the event. Please email [email protected]your interest in volunteering.

    Kick off Barbecue - 4:30pm to 7:00pm

Our Swim Team Kick-Off event will start at 4:30pm with parent and swimmer orientations followed by a potluck team building event. It is exciting to see so many new families join the swim team. We hope everyone can attend as this is a great early season team builder. RSVP and sign-up to bring side dishes, desserts, or volunteer to grill on the Events and Meets tab of our website.

    • For us parents, the Coach Andi and Swim Team Board will provide an overview of the Swim Team, the Foothills Swim League, swim meet fundamentals, parent responsibilities, and answer your questions to make this summer a success. Please reply to this email any questions you want covered so we may incorporate them into the presentation.
    • For our kiddos, the Assistant and Swimmer Coaches will introduce themselves, answer their questions, and teach them the team cheer.

All in all, it should be a fun-filled afternoon and evening.
