We need you this Saturday, June 25 to support our Home Swim Meet

We host Applewood Athletic Club (AAC) this Saturday. It is the first time AAC has visited our pool in over 15 years. We ask that each family plan on signing up for at least one shift this Saturday. Everyone did a great job at our last home meet. Let the streak continue... We need timers, computer support, heating area, deck runners, concessions, and a parking lot monitor.

The annual Fourth of July Bake Sale is almost here!

Genesee is excited to hold their Fourth of July Celebration again this year! As a tradition, Genesee Mountain Thunder hosts our highly anticipated bake sale. This is a tremendous event for our community, wonderful for family involvement, and is our biggest fundraiser to keep our team financially healthy for the summer. The bake sale is part of the overall Genesee Foundation Independence Day celebration-- which starts with a fun run, then a morning parade and continues with music, pool games, and other exciting activities. Our tent is set up in the middle of all the fun and people look forward to the treats and also large items, which they purchase to bring to picnics and parties later in the day. We encourage all swim team families to be part of the fun!

WE NEED YOU AND YOUR MAD BAKING SKILLS!

We're excited for a delicious, creative, and profitable Bake Sale. Get CREATIVE and get the kids involved – they love being able to help and show their friends what they made!! Here are just a few ideas that sell well:

• Home-made pies (super popular and big-ticket items for us)
• Home-made cakes
• Home-made cupcakes
• Home-made bars or brownies
• Home-made banana bread (or other tea bread), sliced or whole
• Home-made cookies packaged 2-4/bag (please bake at least 2 dozen)
• Popcorn packaged in patriotic-themed bags
• Chocolate-dipped pretzel rods with red-white-blue sprinkles

Remember it's 4th of July, so the more patriotic the decoration or packaging the better! Presentation is as important as the taste.

We also will need people to work shifts in the tent that morning to sell the items. It’s fun and you will be in the shade. Julia Nieberding will be coordinating the event and will send out further specifics.
