The Genesee 4th of July Celebration is Tomorrow

Please remember that all are welcome to the Genesee's 4th of July festivities, including non-Foundation residents. We hope all Swim Team families will participate!

    Parade Logistics

I hope that everyone is having a good start to the week. I wanted to give you some information about the Genesee July 4th Parade. Please see the listed items below!

1.We will meet at the corner of Currant and Snowberry at 9:15 am. The parade will start promptly at 10 am - please plan enough time to park and walk to the meeting spot! I will have a bubble machine going so look for the bubbles :)

2.For parking: the parade will end at the Vista Clubhouse so my recommendation is for someone in the family to drop off at the meeting spot, park near the clubhouse, and either meet the parade at the clubhouse or walk back up Currant to join the parade.

3.Feel free to bring wheels to the parade! Kids ride bikes, scooters, strider bikes, skateboards, etc. You can even decorate your wheels if you’re feeling extra festive!

4.WEAR YOUR TEAM SHIRT! We will be walking behind the team banner as a group so be sure to show that Mountain Thunder Pride!

If you have any questions or you’re not sure where to go, please text Carly Dziubla at 858-774-8308

    Bake Sale Information

I hope everyone has been actively baking in anticipation of tomorrow’s bake sale. As a tradition, Genesee Mountain Thunder hosts our highly-anticipated bake sale. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Our tent is set up in the middle of all the fun and people look forward to all the treats: the small nibbles, the family-sized treats, and the grand baked goods, which they purchase to bring to picnics and parties later in the day.

You may drop off baked goods at the following locations:

    • Thursday Morning at the Swim Team table in the Vista parking lot before the start of the parade.
    • Anytime today at my house – 913 Gilia Dr – I will have a cooler on the front stairs

Please have your baked goods packaged and ready to sell. Remember it's 4th of July, so the more patriotic the decoration or packaging the better. Presentation is as important as the taste.

Here are just a few ideas that sell well:

    • Homemade pies - super popular and big-ticket items for us
    • Homemade cakes – BIG or small, we will sell them all!
    • Homemade cupcakes – please plan to package to sell (individual, sets of 4 or 6, dozen)
    • Homemade bars or brownies – see above, same as cupcakes
    • Homemade banana bread (or other tea bread) - sliced or whole
    • Homemade cookies - packaged 2-4/bag (please bake at least 2 dozen)
    • Popcorn packaged in patriotic-themed bags
    • Chocolate-dipped pretzel rods with red-white-blue sprinkles

We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow in their stars, stripes, and Swim Team Shirts!
